Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Galloping Toad Studios LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use any application in the Galloping Toad Studios applications. By using the Apps, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

We do not require an account to use the Apps. If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Device identifiers (advertising ID, device type, OS version)
• IP address and general geographic location (country or region)
• App usage data (quiz scores, levels played, session duration)
• Crash reports and performance data

1.3 Information collected by third-party ad networks

Our advertising partners (which may include Google AdMob/AdSense) may collect device advertising identifiers, IP address, and app usage patterns to serve relevant ads. We do not control their data collection. You may opt out via your device settings or industry tools such as the NAI or DAA opt-out pages.

1.4 Website, browser betas, and feedback

Some of our Apps are available as playable betas in your web browser at gallopingtoad.com. When you use the website or these betas:

• Feedback. If you submit the optional feedback form, we collect the game or topic you select, your thumbs-up or thumbs-down rating, and any comment you write. The form does not ask for your name or email address, and we ask that you not include personal information in your comment. Feedback is processed on our behalf by our form-handling provider, Formspree, and is retained as described in Section 6.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site and betas are used, for example which pages are viewed, whether a beta was started, and whether feedback was submitted. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect your IP address and device and browser information. You can limit this through your browser settings or Google’s opt-out tools.
• Browser storage. The betas may save your progress, such as scores or streaks, in your browser’s local storage on your own device. That progress data stays on your device and is removed if you clear your browser data.

1.5 Reward claims

In MeThinks, earning a perfect score at the Professorial level of a subject unlocks a chance-based bonus spin (a slot machine) that can award a mug, a mouse pad, or a discount code for our online shop. If you claim a reward, we collect the information you enter on the claim form: your claim code, your email address, and your name. For rewards that ship, we also collect your United States shipping address. We record the type of reward and the subject you completed with your claim.

We use this information to verify your claim, enforce our one-claim-per-person limits, produce and ship your reward or email your discount code, and contact you about it. When you submit the form, your email address, claim code, and name are first checked against a record kept on our own server so that each person can claim a reward only once. When a reward code is issued in a game, the code may also be recorded on our side so we can verify it when it is claimed.

Claim forms are processed on our behalf by Formspree. To produce and deliver a shipped reward, we share your name and shipping address with our merchandise fulfilment provider (currently Printful) and its shipping carriers. We use this information only to fulfil your claim and do not use it for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Apps
• Display advertisements to support free access
• Analyze usage patterns to improve performance and content
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with advertising partners (for ad serving), service providers (analytics, hosting, form processing, order fulfilment and shipping), and as required by law. In the event of a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred with notice provided through the Apps or this site.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Apps are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, contact us at privacy@gallopingtoad.com and we will promptly delete such information.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Opt-out of personalized advertising

• iOS: Settings › Privacy › Tracking — disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
• Android: Settings › Google › Ads — enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

California residents (CCPA)

You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any sale (we do not sell personal information). Contact privacy@gallopingtoad.com.

European users (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Contact privacy@gallopingtoad.com.

6. Data Retention

Automatically collected usage data is retained for up to 24 months. Support inquiries are retained as long as necessary plus a reasonable period thereafter. Reward claim records (your email address, claim code, name, and the type of reward) are kept for as long as our reward program runs, so that we can enforce our one-claim-per-person limits, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Shipping addresses are used only to fulfil your claim. You may request deletion at any time, although we may keep the minimum information needed to prevent duplicate claims.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Apps or this site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
